An Update from Beyond

Morning.
Long time, no update. I know. But who really cares? How many peoples actually read this thing anyhoo.... Okie, probably more than I would like to admit. But that is entirely beside the point. I come before my devoted readership (of probably 1!) to pose a question:

What is the definition of 'first come first served'? and can such a system exist without equality?

Okie, now that that has been asked, it's on to a most kick ass update... well, maybe not kick ass 'cause I've had a rather crummy week. But hey, atleast tomorrow I get to see Jenn and watch people get thrown around. And who wouldn't like that?

What's been going on: I've been in Oklahoma for nearly a year now, whoo, and am wrapping up my second semester here. Next semester (excluding the summer semester I intend to take) I finally get to attend something directly related to my major! WHOO! go me. I've gotten a Wii (thanks Dad, wonderful x-mas/b-day gift.) I think I've become decent at Tennis... at least the computer says I'ma pro. And I frequently keep my 'Wii Age' down to the mid twenties. Baseball I'm better at sitting than I am standing.

I'm looking forward to this summer (really despite whether or not I actually get into my much desired "Ancient Art of War" class), mucho gaming to be done in a world I've put a fair amount of work into. The first session went well, and I'm setting up for the long haul now. Hopefully I'll spin such a tale to keep my players (most of them) interested in sticking around for the whole thing. We'll see, and besides... if it flops, I have a nicely built world to use as a backdrop for any future writing I do.

Stephen... WHEEE, is all I have to say. I can't wait, CAN'T WAIT, for your planescape game... even if I'm only in it for a short span of time. I've wanted someone to run a tried and true Planescape game for soooo long and... I think you'll do a good job. Just remember one thing: DM has final say, and no matter what a class does... DM always has control over gates.

Ogame. Ogame ogame ogame... I've almost hit my breaking point for Ogame. 180 some odd hours before my second jumpgate is done and I send my fleet through. It will be the pinnacle of all my goals on that game. It will be glorious and whoo. Of course, I don't intend to quit after that... there's new alliance members to help out, and I intend to stick around for that reason, if not solely for that reason.

Anywhoozers, I've got to head off to my next class... here's a quote:

"You must learn to walk where there is no land. You must learn to see without eyes. You must learn to swim where there is no water. You must learn to fly where there is no sky. Only then can you become a true planeswalker."

long time, no update. I know. I'm here in texas. and I  have a rhetorical question for everyone out there who stumbles across my lil domain here.

I take that back, and instead of backspacing my mistake, I'm merely going to rephrase it and allow everyone to delight in my quirky mind patterns. But enough rambling, though it likely hasn't reached the 'rambling' part yet. question, yes... I said I had a question and here it is:

Ever feel like you're supposed to do something? Not necessarily something important. Just something. I mean, you know what it is you're supposed to do, you may even want to do it. Just... simply don't do it?

Just wondering. I mean, I feel like I should be writing right this very moment (and not on my blog mind you), but... I'm not. I know I should be, don't know what it is I should be writing, just know I should be. Its a bit frustrating. maybe the heat of my father's house (wow that didn't take long to transition) frying my mind a little bit. Maybe it was the 8 hour trip 'home'.

Maybe its just how god damn good shot I am. I really doubt its really any of those things, though each of them are true to some extent (my target from shooting w/ brian the other day will prove the latter). But, I dunno. Do know its frustrating. I've always been able to force myself to do things. Hell, some of my college papers are testaments to that. But, for some reason, I cannot bring myself to do this. Even though, and I know this to be true (or atleast I think it), I want to do it. Maybe I'm loosin' my mind, or maybe its far gone and I'm reclaiming little bits of it and... I dunno.

Fractured thinking is not the way to go. _\|/_

Oh well... I'm here in texas till sunday morning 'bout 5 or 6am. (which means an early bedtime saturday). Then I'm on the road (stupid driving... we hates its... yesssss we's does... we hatessss it!) back to Oklahoma, where I'll be till christmas (maybe a weekend for thanksgiving, maybe). Though while I'm here, I'm lookin' at running some kind of game (preferably Serenity, if I can work up a story for it)... dunno when, dunno where, dunno who, or how long.

Anyways, wanna set somethin' up to visit with me? Gimme a call...

"From 1500 to 1200 all the regions of the Near East went through a cycle of creation, florescence, and fall of centralized states. There were at least five zones where political unification and centralization of power took place, followed by a period of prosperity that ended in a rather sudden collapse." -- Marc Van De Mieroop, A History of the Ancient Near East.

Well, here it is. The end of my first week in Oklahoma, and my first post from here.

It's a lil bit lonely up here. haven't met anyone yet, though that's likely because I've spent most of my time wandering 'round or catching up on my video game playing. Maybe next week I'll get 'round to meeting new peoples. Hell, maybe even make a more direct attempt to find a gaming group up here. (The local comic place didn't help too much).

I do look forward to my trip home in August though. I miss my friends and my cat. I look forward to see all of, or atleast most of, ya'll out there.

In other news... I'm hoping that the note from the translators of Gantz isn't true. That they will continue to make nearly bi-weekly updates of the manga. 'Cause they left it at one helluva cliff-hanger.

Don't think I really have a whole lot more to talk 'bout this time 'round. so Here'sa quote:

The Last Update From Texas

Well. I think the title says it all. This is my last update from Texas. Tomorrow I'm heading to Waco to pack everything I have there, and then I'm off to Oklahoma. I'll be back in August for a week, then... Maybe back for Thanksgiving, then Christmas.

This update's short'n'sweet.

Take care all meh friends in Texas. I won't fergetcha.
BTW, I'll be using a different SN up there, for any who care: Hero of Light245, or my typical airsoftsolidsnk, depending on wether I'm on my laptop (and therefore on campus) or on my PC (in my apartment). Keep in touch.

Currently Watching
Gantz - Game of Death (Vol. 1) with Collector's Box
see related
12 days and counting. Friday was.... a little weird. I know I won't miss the place, not even slightly, especially the last couple weeks of it, with the A/C on the fritz. But I will miss a good deal of the people there. It'll be good to go visit inna month and see how people are doin'. Stephen, good luck w/ getting the job, they need yah up there, and I'm sure you'll come to like 'least a couple of the people. Yah Office Biatch.

Finished up Gantz last week. Was........ weird..... Not entirely sure if I like the ending or not. The Jury is still out on that, prolly have to watch the ending once more to get a better feel for it. I know I already have a greater appreciation of the anime having watched it a second time almost all the way through (thanks to Stephen's interest). Also have just finished readin' the Manga up to Volume 7... haven't been able to find any translated volumes past that. With luck, I'll be able to translate them myself towards the end of next semester... If anyone cares to check out the manga, here's what I've found thus far: http://www.omanga.net/?type=proj&cid=gantz . And if anyone happens to find more translated volumes, I'd greatly appreciate the sharage of the link.

We gamed this weekend. Stephen and I ran, well Stephen ran mostly, and I just kept the group movin', and provided ideas for Stephen, what Mary called "...a really neat idea, like original and stuff. like, whoah." It was fun. Of course, and unless I'm mistaken in this, its always fun to induct a newb. Kylie, welcome to the craziness, hopefully you enjoyed your brief stint with us. Come visit again, or hell, gimme directions once I'm in Oklahoma, and I'll make a feeble attempt at runnin' a game for you an' your friends up there... gas prices depending.

Fourth of July is approaching... and I know I've no explodey things... Does anyone of our group have explodey things? *shrug* guess it ultimately doesn't matter, but eh. Looking forward to this Fourth... I actually get to stay out as late as the entire crowd wants, instead of being the first to leave and inadvertantly dragging the rest of ya'll with me. Whoo!

Well... 2 weeks to go... less than actually.... What's our gaming schedule guys? I've gotta couple ideas for what I think would be a 'neat' CoC game. Stephen knows what I speak of... and itsa idea I tried, and failed at, before... but not this time!

3day game gonna happen still? I know I don't really expect it... but w/e. We'll see what 'appens right?

Think I'll put a new segment up here for this update... called!
